Minneapolis · Audio, lighting & video
Sound built for the room.
Cody Audio designs, installs and runs audio, lighting and video systems for theaters, clubs, houses of worship and live events — from a single PA on a Saturday to a full AV design-build.
Rooms we’ve worked in
First Avenue · Palace Theatre · Uptown Theater · Parkway Theater · Riviera Theatre, Chicago · Ice House · Berlin · Mystic Lake
What we do
Four disciplines, one crew.
Most jobs need more than one of these. Booking them from a single shop means one set of drawings, one point of contact, and nobody pointing at the other guy on show day.
Live Event Production
Full-service audio, lighting and video for concerts, festivals, galas and corporate events. We arrive with a system sized to the room, run it well, and load out clean.
AV Design-Build & Installation
Permanent installations engineered end to end — system design, CAD documentation, rigging, wiring, tuning and commissioning. We hand over a system your staff can actually run.
Lighting Design
Concert and architectural lighting design — plots, patch, moving-light programming and full rig supply, whether it is a one-night show or a permanent house rig.
Video & Projection
Projection, LED and camera packages specified for the throw, the ambient light and the content — then hung, focused and run by people who have done it before.

Design-build
Drawings before gear.
Every installation starts on paper. We produce dimensioned rigging plans, lighting plots, patch and circuit schedules, and elevations — so your crew, your general contractor and the venue are all working from the same set of drawings.
It means fewer surprises on load-in day, and a system that can be serviced by someone who was not there when it was built.
- Dimensioned rigging plans and structural coordination
- Lighting plots, patch and circuit schedules
- Signal flow and wiring documentation
- As-built drawings handed over at completion

Prediction & tuning
We model the room before we hang a box.
Acoustic prediction modeling shows what a room will actually do — where coverage lands, where it falls off, and where reflections are going to cause trouble. We design the array against that model, then verify it with measurements once it is in the air.
The result is even coverage front to back, intelligibility that holds up in the difficult seats, and a tuning you can document and defend.
- Room modeling and SPL coverage prediction
- Array design, splay and aiming
- Measurement-based system tuning
- Commissioning, presets and handover documentation

How it goes
A straightforward way to work.
Whether it is a one-night show or a permanent install, the shape of the job is the same.
Walk the room
We visit, measure and listen — budget, sightlines, power, rigging points, and how you actually use the space.
Design it
Drawings, acoustic modeling and a specified system with real numbers behind it, not a parts list.
Build it
Rigging, cable pulls, terminations and hang. Clean, labelled, and coordinated with your other trades.
Tune & hand over
Measured tuning, commissioning, staff training, and the documentation to go with it.
Tell us about the room.
Send over the venue, the date and roughly what you need. We read every request and reply with real questions, not a form letter.
