Send the bid set. We are licensed, bonded and insured, and we bid the scope as drawn.
How we bid
We bid Division 27 — Section 27 41 00 audio-video systems and the related communications sections — plus rigging scope where a project carries it separately. Send the full bid set with any addenda and the schedule, and we will come back with a number against the drawings rather than a number against a guess.
Cody Audio is a registered Technology Systems Contractor in Minnesota with a licensed Power Limited Technician on staff. We carry a $2,000,000 liability policy and are bonded with the State of Minnesota. Certificates and license numbers go out with the bid.
We are used to working as Systems Contractor to someone else’s design — consultant-issued specifications, public invitations for bids, performance bonds and AIA billing. We do not need the design to be ours to bid the job properly.
Submittals and closeout
Product data and shop drawings on the schedule the spec sets, rigging details and structural coordination where the scope requires it, and as-builts that match what is actually in the building. Where a specification requires fully detailed installation drawings developed from design-intent documents, that is our work to produce and submit, not a change order.
Closeout is commissioning records, O&M documentation and training for the people who will run the system after we leave. A room handed over without a trained operator is a callback waiting to happen, and we would rather spend the afternoon than take the phone call.

Walker | West Music Academy, St. Paul. Section 27 41 00 Performance Audio / Video Systems, designed by Schuler Shook with Locus Architecture. Twelve system groups under one section — performance audio and video, recording, production page and program, production video monitoring, ADA assistive listening, AV infrastructure and control, portable systems, livestream, and conferencing. Design by others; executed in full by us.
Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, Mankato. Hockey arena audiovisual system improvements for the City of Mankato, bid publicly under Project #11100, with a performance bond and AIA billing.
Normandale Lutheran. Specified and supplied through Allied Productions & Sales, with our scope covering the rigging, wiring and commissioning of two L-Acoustics A10i arrays and X8 outfills.
